Our CPR course is a comprehensive, streamlined, and practical-based learning experience that makes it fun while you learn.

Delivery Method: Face-to-Face Training and Assessment with online e-learning.
Course Duration: 1.5hrs face-to-face training and assessment, plus self-paced online learning. The time it takes to complete the eLearning will depend on an individual’s previous skills, knowledge, and experience.
Core Units of Competency
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment the SAME DAY for HLATID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation, CPR.
Certificate Valid for:
12 months from the date of course completion, CPR certification is required to be renewed annually
Entry requirements: Minimum age 14 years. Basic numeracy and English literacy are required. To complete the CPR assessment, you must kneel on the floor and perform resuscitation techniques for two minutes. If this is not possible, please contact FACE before your course commences.
Smaller Class Sizes: We aim to keep class sizes smaller for a more personalized experience. The durations of face-to-face courses reflect groups of between four and fifteen participants. If there are fewer students, course duration may be reduced by up to 10%. If the group is more than fifteen people, it may be necessary to extend the length of the course.
Registration: Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the course commencement time.

Can I do a first aid course online?

While there are elements of our course that be done as e-Learning prior to the classroom activities, you will need to attend a course in person in order to be able to complete the practical CPR assessment. If you need to look at conducting a course via Zoom with a live assessment component, please contact our office for information.

When does a first aid certificate expire?

In line with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines (ARC), HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation should be updated every 12 months.

How to access CPR certificate

We will email you an electronic copy of your CPR Certificate on the same day you successfully complete your training and are deemed competent by your instructor. Some evening and weekend courses may be exceptions to this.

Who can deliver CPR training?

Only Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) are accredited to deliver the courses approved on their scope with the approval of the national regulator Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). National Training College trading as First Aid Course Experts is an RTO (#45654) and is CRICOS-registered also, meaning we can train international students on a student visa. (CRICOS #03884A). Recognise and assess an emergency situation
Ensure safety for self, bystanders and casualty
Assess the casualty and recognise the need for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
Seek assistance from emergency services
Perform CPR in accordance with the ARC guidelines
Display respectful behaviour towards casualty
Operate an automated external defibrillator (AED) according to manufacturers’ instructions
Accurately convey incident details to emergency services
Report details of incident in line with appropriate workplace or site procedures
Maintain privacy and confidentiality of information in line with statutory or organisational policies
Recognise the possible psychological impacts on self and other rescuers and seek help when required
Contribute to a review of the first aid response as required
