In-person training for this course will be a two hour session, which will include a practical assessment where you perform CPR for two minutes on a mannequin. Before this there will be an online learning module to be completed at home that should take under an hour.

HLTAID011 – Provide first aid

Fulfil the requirements of most workplaces that demand first aid training and learn important skills and knowledge with HLTAID011 – Provide first aid, First Aid Course Experts’ most popular course. The material that will be covered in this course includes basic life support techniques such as how to use an AED, perform CPR and how to follow the DRSABCD acronym to order your first aid response. The course also goes beyond this into other first aid techniques like applying bandages correctly and using asthma inhalers.

The in-person training for this course will be a four hour session guided by your instructor. The readings to be completed at home before the class training should be assumed to take six hours, but you may take much less time to finish them, as do many students.

HLTAID012 – Provide first aid in an education and care setting

You can learn how to give first aid treatment with a specific view to medical needs of children and infants with this course. HLTAID012 – Provide first aid in an education and care setting is geared specifically toward people who have frequent contact with children, like educators, childcare workers and parents and guardians. First aid training is a mandatory requirement for employment in education and childcare.

Six hours should be allowed for the preliminary readings that come with this course, which must be completed before the face-to-face training, although many students finish them more quickly than that. The class session in Gympie will go for five hours.
