HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

This comprehensive course has a focus on providing first aid to infants and children, as well as how to use an AED and perform CPR. It also includes the treatment of managing asthma, anaphylaxis, epilepsy, diabetes, fever, pain and diarrhoea.
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants and children in line with first aid guidelines determined by the ARC and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.
This unit applies to a range of workers within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency.
HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an education and care setting supersedes the now-dated HTLAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting.
