The unit applies to all who may be required to provide a First Aid response in a range of situations.

HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid is the most recent release of the accredited Provide First Aid course. It supersedes the old HLTAID003 release of Provide First Aid and is the course your employer will likely be referring to when they ask if you have your First Aid certificate.

HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an education and care setting

This comprehensive course has a focus on providing First Aid to infants and children, as well as how to use an AED and perform CPR. It also includes the treatment of managing asthma, anaphylaxis, epilepsy, diabetes, fever, pain and diarrhoea.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a First Aid response to infants and children in line with First Aid guidelines determined by the ARC and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

This unit applies to a range of workers within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a First Aid emergency.

HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid is a minimum requirement for workplace First Aid compliance and our most popular course..

This Derwent Park First Aid course covers basic life support, First Aid response for medical emergencies, and the DRSABCD strategy which prioritises a First Aider’s actions. 

The reading can take up to six hours but most students complete this in much shorter time while hands-on training is four hours long with your trainer guiding you through techniques on CPRs, AEDs and asthma inhalers as well as important bandaging skills.
