The results you receive will gauge where your First Aid knowledge and skill level need improving and may assist you with what FACE course to book.

First Aid is, for the most part, standard across the globe regardless of the country. The skills you learn in providing basic lifesaving, CPR and emergency responder care transfer to any situation or event anywhere on the planet.

In a life-or-death situation, any assistance delivered with the intention to save the life of someone in a medical emergency can be rendered. However, if the person providing the assistance does not correctly understand what they are doing, or their technique is flawed, they may unintentionally make the situation worse, despite best efforts and intentions. For this reason, taking a FACE course will qualify you in basic CPR and First Aid and ensures any assistance rendered will be delivered correctly using the most up-to-date clinical practices at the time.

Providing CPR correctly for the duration of time required is an arduous task and requires a high level of stamina and fitness. Ensuring that the ribcage is depressed to the required depth before releasing is also critical to practice on a manikin on a regular basis. Most people will learn CPR and Basic First Aid and never have to use their skills. Because of this lack of practice in the fundamental basics of CPR, the current recommendations in Australia require a CPR certification to be renewed every year.

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid Certificate is required to be renewed every three years under the Safe Work legislation. Medical advances in all areas develop continually, and protocols change rapidly as new evidence and practice improve on the old versions. The standards and practices taught one year might have been altered and a new standard and practice put in place between the time you first qualified for your certifications and three years post your qualifications.

The current legislation requires that a person must be fourteen (14) years of age to undertake and become certified in HLTAID011 Provide First Aid. Younger children can be taught CPR and BLS, such as Nippers and Scouts, etc.; however, their certifications fall under a different legislation category.

FACE asks that all participants arrive at the chosen location 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time. Please ensure that you factor into your travel time any margins for public transport or heavy traffic congestion as the course will commence at the stated time.

No! HLTAID011 Provide First Aid Certificate will teach you everything required from the ground up. We work on the assumption that our students do not know the subject content so that we provide a level playing field and educational platform. If you have previously undertaken any First Aid certification and only require a refresher, you might benefit from looking at some of our more advanced courses.
