After receiving your personalised training plan, go through your theory readings. Then, pick which of the in-person practical training sessions to go to.

You must complete at least 120 hours of work experience in relevant setting. You will need to find your own work experience, but your trainer might be able to help you if you are having any difficulty.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

You can make a real change in the lives of Australians living with disabilities by getting a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability). In this course you will learn everything you need to know about disability support across the nine core units and six (6) elective units.

HOW YOU'LL LEARN

You’ll learn job-ready skills and knowledge for Australia’s disability and community care sectors in our Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) course. You’ll be taught through hands-on workshops, self-paced online readings, and an industry-specific work placement.

PRACTICAL LEARNING

You’ll need to attend at least six (6) practical training sessions in person as part of your certification. This will include your free manual handling certification.

ONGOING SUPPORT

As you work towards your certificate, our experienced teachers will be there to help and guide you the entire way.

120 HOURS WORK PLACEMENT

Get ready for the industry with 120 hours of work placement in a real working environment.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

It’s easy to start a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability). You don’t need to have completed any other studies or work experience before enrolling. But there are some minimum requirements that all students must meet in order to be eligible, such as:

18 YEARS OLD

The minimum age for students to enrol in this course is 18 years old.

INTERNET ACCESS

Students complete their online readings in their own time and at their own pace. To access them, they will require regular access to a computer and an internet connection.

WRITTEN & VERBAL ENGLISH

As the course is delivered entirely in English, students will need to have a basic proficiency in both written and verbal English skills.

BASIC FITNESS

Portions of the practical training, particularly the manual handling section, will require students to complete basic manual tasks such as moving patients.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT REQUIREMENTS

International students looking to join our Disability Support course must meet the following additional criteria: Current Passport Eligible Visa (or be willing to obtain one) Highest Qualification Certificate and Transcript (Australia and/or Overseas) Current or past Confirmation of Enrolment from another provider (if applicable) - this may be used as English evidence Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Letter of Release (or any document authorising your transfer if the student is currently enrolled in another education provider in Australia) Vocational qualifications completed within Australia (including short courses, such as first aid) Credit Transfer Application (if applicable) English Language Qualification (IELTS, PTE, or other) Recent completion (3 months) Australian ELICOS Course with a result of Upper Intermediate.
